If you are like me, you would rather not have twenty bottles of condiments lining your refrigerator door. And, if you are like me, you would also like the right condiment for every occasion. Finally, if you are like me, you would love for those condiments to be as fresh and healthy as possible.
It can be exhausting to be like me. Trust me on that one.
Cocktail Sauce is so easy to make, from just four ingredients you probably have on-hand: ketchup, prepared horseradish, lemon juice, and worcestershire sauce. That’s it! One less bottle for the refrigerator door. {If you don’t have them already, these are all great items to keep in stock.}
Another benefit of making Cocktail Sauce yourself is being able to adjust the horseradish and lemon juice to your taste.
Shrimp with Cocktail Sauce is a really healthy and easy snack or light meal; it is also easy to put out for guests. Keep a bag of raw frozen shrimp in your freezer, and you can defrost, boil, and shell the shrimp in minutes. While the shrimp is boiling, mix the cocktail sauce, and you are golden.
- ¼ c ketchup
- 1 t prepared horseradish (if you use freshly grated, you will probably need less)
- ½ t fresh lemon juice
- ½ t worcestershire sauce
- Mix the ingredients in a small bowl, and serve!
