Total time:
Serves: 70 treats (1" round)
  • 1 c whole wheat flour
  • ⅓ c cornmeal
  • 1 T canola oil
  • .25 c chicken broth (low sodium)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 T milk
  • 1 egg, beaten with 1 T water, for egg wash
  1. Heat oven to 350 and line 2 large rimmed cookie sheets with silpats or parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together flour and cornmeal.
  3. Add the rest of the ingredients (except the egg wash), and stir until combined.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough until approx. ¼" thick.
  5. Cut into coins with 1" cookie cutter.
  6. Place the coins on to the pans, and brush with the egg wash.
  7. Bake for 25-30 min, or until golden brown.
Your batch may yield a different amount, but I can get more than 70 1" treats from this recipe. After you punch out a batch, just keep gathering the scraps, re-rolling, and re-punching!
